Pŵer
Power
Pŵer yw’r gyfradd y mae egni yn cael ei drawsnewid.
Pŵer = Egni / amser =
(V x I x t) / t = V x I
Os yw V mewn foltiau ac I mewn ampau, bydd y pŵer mewn watiau (W).
Wrth ddelio gyda gwrthyddion, gallwn ddefnyddio’r ffurfiau hyn o’r hafaliad i gyfrifo gwerth y pŵer a ollyngir:
Pŵer = I2 x R NEU Pŵer = V2 / R
Wrth weithio mewn foltiau, miliampau a cilohm, rhoddir y pŵer mewn miliwat (mW).
SYLWCH:
Gellir defnyddio’r holl hafaliadau uchod gyda gwrthydd. Wrth ddelio gyda dyfeisiau megis moduron, mae’r rhan fwyaf o’r egni trydanol yn cael ei drawsnewid i egni mecanyddol.
Power is the rate at which energy is being converted.
Power = Energy / time =
(V x I x t) / t = V x I
If V is in volts and I in amps, the power will be in watts (W).
When dealing with resistors, we can use the following forms of the equation to calculate the value of power dissipated:
Power = I2 x R OR Power = V2 / R
If we work in volts, milliamps and kilohms, the power will be given in milliwatts (mW).
NOTE:
All of the above equations can be applied to a resistor. When dealing with devices such as motors, most of the electrical energy is being converted into mechanical energy.
